Problem to be Solved:

Which soda is worst for your teeth?

Hypothesis:

Pepsi will be the worst because it has a lot of acid and acid is bad for teeth enamel.

Procedure:

1. Gather Equipment
2. Test pH of sodas with pH Hydrion paper
3. Record the pH of sodas
4. Label the cups of each beverage
5. Measure and record 40 grams of granulated limestone on scale
6. Put limestone in a coffee filter
7. Measure 365 ml soda in graduated cylinder and pour in cup
8. Put filter containing limestone in cup with soda
9. Repeat steps 4-9 for other sodas and for water also
10. Lay the cup containing the soda and limestone in a filter on the table
11. Wait 24 hours for the limestone to soak in the soda
12. After 24 hours remove filter with limestone from each cup and lay on a table to dry
14. Let limestone dry and measure limestone on scale
15 Record weight of limestone in grams
16. Subtract ending weight from previous weight with calculator for all limestone measurements
17. Average results for each beverage

Conclusion:

The hypothesis that Pepsi will be the worst for your teeth enamel because of the amount of acid, is wrong. Pepsi actually was in the middle of them all. However, Diet Root Beer did the worst and Dr. Pepper was right behind it. The best soda to drink would be Sprite; it did the best, although it’s diet version didn’t do so well. Diet sodas are actually worse for your teeth and that is what this experiment has actually proven. The pH didn’t really affect the loss of limestone. More tests on sodas can prove what really affects tooth decay.

Biblical Application:

I Corinthians 6:19-20
Know ye not that your body the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

This verse is saying that our bodies are the temple of God and not our own, once we become saved. Jesus bought our bodies when he died on the cross for our sins. Therefore we should not drink a lot of soda because it rots your teeth. Our body is the temple of God and we should keep it holy and clean.
