Can We Tell Gender by Feet?
Easy
We're going to measure the width and length of 10 boys' and 10 girls' feet, and compare the ratios between them. We'll also measure the width and length of their toes, and the width of their heels.
Hypothesis
The hypothesis is that there are differences between male and female feet.
Method & Materials
You will measure the widest part and the longest length of 10 males' and 10 females' right and left feet. You will also measure the width and length of their toes, and the width of their heels divided by the length of their feet.
You will need a ruler, measuring tape, and 10 males and 10 females of the same age.
Results
Our results showed that there are differences between male and female feet. For example, the male's foot has a much more square shape than that of a female, and the female foot is broader across the toes than a male's.
Why do this project?
This science project is interesting because it shows that there are differences between male and female feet that can be seen just by looking at them.
Also Consider
Variations to consider include measuring the circumference of the feet, or measuring the length of the toes compared to the length of the foot.
