Music and Sleep: A Science Project
Hard
Do you want to know if classical music helps children fall asleep faster? This science project will explore the effects of classical music on children's sleep. You'll observe 10 children aged 4 to 5 years old and measure how long it takes them to fall asleep with and without classical music playing in the background.
Hypothesis
The hypothesis is that children made to listen to classical music will be able to fall asleep more quickly.
Method & Materials
You will need to get permission from the nursery school and the parents of the selected children to observe their children’s sleeping pattern for 10 days. You will also need a classical music CD, a CD player, and a stopwatch.

Results
The results showed that the children were able to fall asleep more quickly on the days that the classical music was playing in the background. This proves that the hypothesis is true.
Why do this project?
This science project is interesting because it explores the effects of classical music on children's sleep. It also shows how important consistency is for children to feel secure.
Also Consider
Variations of this experiment could include trying different types of music like lullabies or pop music. Another variation could be to compare the results by checking the number of times the children wake up during their nap time.
