TV5

TV5 is a global television network, broadcasting several channels of French language programming. It was started in January 1984. It was under the management of Serge Adda until November 2004; the next director should be Jean-Jacques Aillagon . TV5 is the third global television network, after MTV and CNN.

Most of the content is taken from mainstream networks in the French-speaking world, notably TF1 and France 2 from France, RTBF from Belgium, TSR from Switzerland, and SRC and TVA networks in Quebec, Canada. In addition to international news, TV5 broadcasts movies and music magazines. The number 5 in the name is the count of the founding networks.
