Early years
Connor grew up listening to soul music under the influence of her grandfather who was born in New Orleans. She also sang gospel music in a church choir at an early age and started appearing in school musicals. Her first big break came at 17 when she was picked from her school to sing at a Michael Jackson concert in Germany. In 2001 she was finally signed to Sony Music under her new pseudonym Sarah Connor.
