Lime
Lime has several meanings:
- Limestone
- Agricultural lime - a mineral soil additive
- Calcium oxide (also quicklime) - a chemical compound
- Calcium hydroxide (also slaked lime) - a chemical compound
- Lime (fruit) - a Citrus tree with a green fruit similar to a lemon, and the fruit of that tree.
- Australian lime - six small Citrus species native to Australia
- Kaffir lime - a Southeast Asian Citrus with very pungent leaves.
- Key lime - a lime oiginally from Asia but now commonly grown and consumed across North America.
- Persian Lime - a lime sort with thick skin.
- Tilia - a genus of trees, known as "lime tree" in Britain and "linden tree" in North America.
- Lime (colour) - a yellowish green color, essentially the same as chartreuse.
- Lime (anime) - a term from anime and manga, a derivative of lemon (anime).
- Lyme disease - an infectious disease, caused by the Borrelia spirochete, a gram-negative microorganism.
