Humic acids
Humic acids are those organic compounds found in soil that are insoluble in acidic conditions. They are dark brown to grey-grey black in colour. They are natural polymers, produced by the breakdown of dead plant material. They contribute to soil fertility and are precursors of fossil fuels. Mixtures of humic acids are used in hydroponic gardening.
