Biberach Independent Film Festival

The Biberach Independent Film Festival (B.I.F.F.) had its premiere in November 2004 in the southwestern German town of Biberach an der Riß (situated just south of Ulm. The Festival is for a German audience and will present recent German and international shorts and documentaries.

B.I.F.F. runs parallel to a local festival of German movies - the "Filmfest Biberach" - which, however, focusses mainly on feature films.

The B.I.F.F. competition in 2005 will accept entries in the following categories:

I: Transformat Whether from 16mm to DVD, male to female, swords to plowshares, feature to short - this section is about changes.

II: Setbacks/Backlash The times they are a-changing – to the worse. Broken dreams and social decline. And striking back. Against globalisation etc.

III: Beyond Germany Exciting things are happening in the field of documentaries and experimental shorts outside of Germany. In Asia, Africa, etc. And German film makers see the world.

IV: Blood relations Violence within and outside the family. Forced or desired. Relations between victims. Bullies, terrorists, violent offenders and their victims

V: Camp! High camp and trashy entertainment. How bad can it get? And what turns trash into cult movies?
