Battelle Memorial Institute

The Battelle Memorial Institute is a private, non-profit research company centered in Columbus, Ohio. Battelle has played a major role in the development of projects like the Xerox process and compact disc digital storage.

Battelle manages several national laboratories for the United States Department of Energy: The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory , Brookhaven National Laboratory (through Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC - a collaboration between Battelle and Stony Brook University), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (through UT-Battelle, LLC - a collaboration between Battelle and the University of Tennessee) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
