Angels Flight
Angels Flight is a landmark funicular railway in the Bunker Hill district of downtown Los Angeles, California, United States which claims to be the "shortest railway in the world".
Originally built in 1901 as the Los Angeles Incline Railway running northwest from the west corner of Third and Hill Streets, it was closed in 1969 as the automobile rose to prominence in city transportation plans and public railways all but disappeared. The railway was restored and reopened half a block to the southwest of the original site in 1996, but has been closed since an accident in 2001, which killed one passenger and injured seven others.
