Abitibi-Consolidated is an Canadian pulp and paper company based in Montreal, Quebec. The company has interests in 27 paper mills and in 22 sawmills. It has approximately 17,000 employees.
Abitibi-Consolidated was formed from the merger between Abitibi-Price and Stone-Consolidated on May 29th, 1997. In 2000, Abitibi-Consolidated acquired a majority shareholding in Canadian integrated forest products company Donohue Inc.
