Lesson 1 The Science Fair - An Introduction
|
It's that time of the
year again for your science fair project!
And if you do a great job, your project
might make it all the way to the regional,
state, or national science fair! Feeling
a little lost over where to begin? After
all, most of us aren't rocket scientists
by birth! Don't panic! Science fairs are
actually lots of fun!
On top of what you'll learn from preparing your
own project, you'll also learn so much about
science by just watching and talking to
other participants. If you've never done
a science fair project before - or if you're
not sure how to go about doing it right,
don't worry! I'll take you through each
step and show you how to produce a winning
science fair project!
You've probably heard that science fair projects
are all about the scientific method. I'll tell you all about
the scientific method very soon. But before that, you need to know
that by doing a science project, you'll get to practice the scientific
method. This means that you will practice collecting and analyzing
data in a manner that is well accepted by real scientists
around the world. Also, it's a well known fact that hands-on
experience tremendously increases a person's speed of learning!
I personally think that science projects make science a whole lot
more fun and meaningful!
